The Taylor Method for Multiplication

I created this book with my 9 year old daughter, Emma…..who, after 3 weeks of practice, just couldn’t seem to remember her times tables.

Mostly, because she was bored to tears with the rote memory drills, we all did in school(you know the ones) and I was desperate for a solution!

Desperate, you hear me!

One day, while trying to help her memorize them, my good ol’ Bio-Psych degree, finally, kicked in and I remembered that the more details you tie to a memory, the deeper the processing, and the greater the ability to, spontaneously, recall the memory.

I knew that degree would come in handy at some point…..GO BLUE!

What happened next was pretty incredible……..

She went from three weeks of practicing with little, if any, recall; to learning them all within 30 minutes. The best part being the joy and energy we both gained. I saw my frustrated, discouraged, child transform into an excited student; enthusiastic about learning and full of confidence. That meant everything to my little mommy heart.

Emma and I can’t wait for you to experience that same sense of joy and relief with your children.
